Welcome to Alder Creek Children's Forest! ACCF is a 78-acre forest
in southern Douglas County in Oregon, surrounded by the 2500-acre
Alder Creek-Jordan Creek catchment. (Here's a neat panoramic view of the watershed, taken from Canyon Mountain.) ACCF is also a nonprofit that coordinates
learning activites on the forest and watershed. ACCF has developed
this website so more students can benefit from our forest and watershed.
Make sure to tell your teachers to check it out too.
Where are you from? What
watershed do you live in? Introduce yourself in our Guest
Forum:
all you have to do is register in ACCF
Moodle, our online learning
system, then you can meet others who've checked in online. Stay
tuned to ACCF Moodle as our
online learning activities expand.
One fun thing you can do right
now is take a forest quiz on
the Moodle site. Or, how would you like to take a virtual
tour of ACCF? You get to fly around in a balloon, touch down
on a site of your choosing, and search the site for treasure hunt
items! Think you can score all 100 points? If your class visits the ACCF site, you can contribute your thoughts in Moodle, or if you take pictures they can be featured in the upper-right corner of our webpages or on the Forest Quiz! Contact us for more details.
And if you have any good ideas for improving ACCF's online learning
resources, just post a note in our Guest
Forum. Thanks, and come
back soon—we always have new things do do here.
