Pioneer Days started on Thursday night but, well, I wasn't quite ready for business then.
But I was ready by Friday morning!
Our gazebo got crowded at times by groups of young people wanting to draw and look at pictures of their friends.
Our booth's mascot (in the hat), who never strayed too far from the gazebo at night.
We'd often see folks pointing at the map of the Alder-Jordan Creek watershed, and several dozen people put dots on the map for living on or close to the watershed.
Here's the Maunu clan of Myrtle Creek, who all did great pictures. Casey Maunu at right received honorable mention for his picture.
Here's Selena Martinez from Sacramento, who also received honorable mention for her picture and was very proud of the pencil she received for completing a drawing.
Alan Baumann of the ACCF Board, who helped set up and watch the booth, and Lee Esterbrook, an ACCF volunteer and Friend.
Scott Hampton of Days Creek School helped out several times too.
Sometimes Grandma helped.
This one was a group project.
Chuck Spindel and Sue Moran of Canyonville, two Friends of ACCF.
Everybody seemed to know somebody in those pictures Marilyn Chandler took from last year's activities!
Carly Sebaske (upper right with hat) from Riddle won 1st place, while her sister Mary (upper left) received honorable mention
Joseph Coffey, an entering 9th grader at South Umpqua, took these pictures with a digital camera at our Spring Community Forest Fair. He's a great photographer!
Some friends from Canyonville in front of the booth.
Meredith Smith, a Friend of ACCF, and his family
Our two fearless judges, Chris Rusch and Marilyn Chandler.
And here are some of the nearly 3 dozen entries…
The winners! (Mary's last name is Sebaske too.)

The three winners, L to R top, plus three honorable mentions, L to R bottom.
Here are Tessa Falk of South Umpqua and Julia Kehoe of Days Creek, who won second place.
And another one of Selena Martinez! She's very proud of herself.
