Alder Creek Children’s Forest (ACCF), a charitable nonprofit organization based in Douglas County, Oregon, offers a place, partnerships, and programs designed for young citizens to learn to work together to create healthy, sustainable forests, watersheds, and communities. See our mission statement for details.

You may wish to view our brief introductory slide show, or a map and virtual tours of ACCF and the Alder Creek-Jordan Creek catchment, or some news articles on ACCF. If you'd like to tour ACCF, you first need to make an appointment; please visit our contact page for our phone and email address and for directions to the ACCF site.

We are proud to have won both a national Community Collaboration Award in 2006, and a national Web Resources Award in 2007, from the Hands on the Land Program. HOL is sponsored by Partners in Resource Education, a collaboration of five federal agencies and a nonprofit educational foundation.

ACCF has a history founded in the Proctor family of Canyonville and many other individuals of Douglas County who believe education will help bring their children a future of healthy forests, watersheds, and communities. Founded in 2002, ACCF is already providing a unique educational resource to the youth of Douglas County, Oregon, and beyond. We are launching an exciting series of educational programs at introductory and advanced levels, focusing on the 78-acre ACCF site and the surrounding Alder-Jordan Creek catchment. Our Board of Directors and volunteers offer commitment and expertise in natural resources and education; we would greatly appreciate your help if you'd like to join our team.
