Lee Esterbrook
Lee Esterbrook has lived with his wife Debbie and chidren Joshua and Shyra in Canyonville for 15 years, and has been employed by Roseburg Forest Products for 29 years. He is active in the community, serving on the Canyonville Fire Department. Lee has done work on the Proctor Memorial Forest for many years, lending a hand to Virginia and Bob Proctor when they were growing old. Lee heads up the Board's Community Committee, and is reponsible for managing outreach and communications. |

Dave Gianotti
Dave Gianotti was raised in Anchorage Alaska where he became interested in Environmental Sciences and Outdoor Education through Scouting. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Portland. Dave served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a Science Teacher and Scout Leader. He has worked at the Portland Zoo and has taught Science for over fifteen years. Dave received his Masters Degree from Southern Oregon University and is currently working as the Superintendent of Riddle Schools. |

Lisa Lanza
Born and raised in upstate New York, Lisa worked for 12 years as the Director of a local humane society. She completed degrees in Natural Resources Conservation and Environmental Studies at the SUNY Environmental Science & Forestry College. Recently she completed a master’s degree in Science Education from Syracuse University. Her career in Oregon started with a position as an environmental consultant at a local environmental firm. Currently she is employed by the City of Roseburg Parks Division. |

David Parker
David Parker is a 35-year resident of Douglas County. He bought his 100 acres near Dillard after participating in the construction of Mt. Grove Center near Glendale in the early 70's and refusing to participate in the Vietnam conflict. Presently he is the forest manager and one of the trustees of Mt. Grove, a non-profit educational center focused on environmental education. In 1995, at the request of virginia proctor, david built an all-native plant garden in memory of Bob Proctor at the Canyonville Historical Society museum. The relationship continued with Virginia as a forest manager until her untimely death. Getting on the board of ACCF is a continuation of David's interest in forestry and education. |

Jim Proctor
Jim Proctor is President of the ACCF Board of Directors. Jim was born and raised in Canyonville, where he was active in Boy Scouts, the local Methodist Church, and school music and sports. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Jim served in the Peace Corps in Africa for four years, then returned for advanced studies in engineering, environmental science, and geography. Jim taught environmental geography at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1992 to 2005, then moved to Lewis & Clark College in Portland, where he serves as Director of the Environmental Studies Program. |

Phil Rich
Phil Rich is a retired educator, having taught junior high for 28 years up through 2001. He was raised in Arizona, received a B.S. in education in 1971 and a M.S. in guidance counseling psychology in 1976. Phil's most recent teaching position was with the South Umpqua School District in southern Douglas County. |

Rita Wicker
Rita Wicker is Treasurer of the ACCF Board of Directors. Rita originally hails from eastern Montana. She attended high school in Great Falls and graduated from the University of Montana with an elementary education degree. Her first career stop was in Mullan, Idaho, where she taught 4th grade for seven years. At that point she decided she needed a change of scener; Canyonville provided the variety and challenge she wanted. She taught self-contained 4th, 5th and 6th grades for a number of years. Before retiring in 2006, she taught Language Arts, Math, Journalism and Science at Canyonville Middle School. She and her husband live in Myrtle Creek. |

Alan Baumann
Alan Baumann has lived in Douglas County since 1980, working as a self-employed contractor, as Research Assistant, and as Forester for the Umpqua National Forest since 1980. He is now working as Fire Ecologist out of the Supervisor’s Office in Roseburg. Alan has long been involved in community affairs, working extensively in the Glide community and as a member of the North Umpqua Planning Advisory Committee. He has also volunteered for the annual Douglas County School Forestry Tour (1980-2004), helped develop a nature trail for the Glide School District, and volunteered with Project Learning Tree since the mid-1990s. Alan served on the ACCF board from 2002 through 2005. |

Marilyn Chandler
Born and raised in southern California, Marilyn taught for 33 rich years in Canyonville Primary School. She has been active in Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary society for women educators, and volunteers for the Umpqua Community College Art Gallery and the South County YMCA. Marilyn is also active in the South Umpqua Historical Society, and teaches art and art history in elementary schools in Douglas County as a part of Art Express. Marilyn enjoys traveling, photography, working in her yard, and pencil drawing. |

Todd Buchholz
Todd Buchholz serves as Assistant Fisheries Progam Manager and Consultation Biologist for the Umpqua National Forest. Todd is an Oregon State University graduate and has 25 years of experience working in the land management and natural resources arena with both State, Federal and private agencies. Todd also has ten years of natural resource education experience. He is a certified Project Learning Tree facilitator and self-described "all around nice guy." Todd served on the ACCF board from 2004 through 2006. |

Maggie Junkins
Maggie Junkins is the Secretary of the ACCF Board of Directors. She was raised in northern Nevada and in Eugene, Oregon. After graduating from the University of Oregon she began her teaching career in Canyonville in 1972 where she was the librarian and taught art and writing classes. She also coached middle school track and basketball for many years. She is currently the District Library Coordinator of South Umpqua School District. Her hobbies include painting, drawing, and working in her garden. |

Bob Kinyon
Bob Kinyon is a graduate of Roseburg High School, and served for nearly 5 years in the US Air Force. Bob served a 23-year career with the US Forest Service in Fire Management, then retired to work first as Coordinator for the Coquille Watershed Association, then his current position as Executive Director for the Umpqua Basin Watershed Council. He and his wife Judy live in Sutherlin, and have two grown children and four grandchildren. Bob’s hobbies are woodworking and archery. Bob worked hard on the ACCF board from 2002 through 2004. |

Jim Long
Jim Long was reared on a cattle ranch in Hood River, Oregon. He worked for 26 years with Washington State University and with community colleges and WSU Extension to build and evaluate new programs in agriculture, forestry, family living, 4-H, and community development. He also served as part-time Professor of Adult and Continuing Education and as a consultant in agricultural and rural development for a number of African and Asian countries. He and his wife Barbara live on the North Umpqua, where both are active retirees. |

Chris Rusch
Chris Rusch was raised in many parts of the country in a Navy family, then moved to Douglas County in the 1970s to work for the Umpqua National Forest. She worked in Silviculture, including reforestation, thinning, and tree improvement genetics, and now serves as District Botanist, focusing on rare plants and habitat management. Chris lives in Tiller on a 30 acre homestead with her husband and children, enjoys gardening and growing fruit, has volunteered for the Tiller Community Library, and has served on the Days Creek School Board for a number of years. Chris served on the ACCF board from 2004 through 2007. |

Al Springer
Al Springer is currently Executive Director and teacher at Riddle Education Center, where he teaches Natural Resource Science and Wellness. Al developed his love and experience teaching natural resource science while working as an Oregon Youth Conservation Corps Program Director, teacher, and crew leader for The Phoenix School of Roseburg. He is also a founding member of the Oregon Natural Resources Research Institute. Al served on the ACCF board from 2004 to 2007. |

Steve Wright
Stever Wright has lived in the Canyonville area since 1975, and has been an employee of Roseburg Forest Products for 31 years. Steve is an avid promoter of disc golf, and has designed a number of disc golf courses, including those found in Riverfront Park in Roseburg and Whistlers Bend Park near Glide. Steve is currently designing a disc golf course for the ACCF site.
